A proprietary yeast nutrient that has become a standard tool for many winemakers to help ensure successful fermentations and the reduction of hydrogen sulfide production.
Fermaid K is a blended complex yeast nutrient that supplies essential yeast nutrition to wine must. Nutrients include: ammonia salts (DAP), free amino acids, sterols, unsaturated fatty acids, key nutrients (magnesium sulfate, thiamin, folic acid, niacin, biotin, calcium pantothenate) and inactive yeast (yeast hulls). This proprietary blend is a great tool to have in your winemaking toolshed to help ensure successful fermentations and reduce the production of hydrogen sulfide.
To use, simply rehydrate Fermaid K (1 gram per gallon of wine must, or roughly 1 tsp. for 5 gallons) with room temperature water, and add to an active fermentation. The amount of water used for rehydration is not critical. Just add enough to make a slurry. Fermaid K works best when used in conjunction with an appropriate yeast rehydration nutrient such as Go-Ferm Protect.
